Adam's Final Mock Draft: What Each Team SHOULD Do

We are a few short days away from the 2021 NFL Draft in Cleveland Ohio. In just a few short days, I will be screaming at my television demanding Howie Roseman gets fired. In a few short days, hundreds of young football players dreams will come true when they get drafted into the NFL!

If you are reading this, you have probably read your fair share of mock drafts, and at this point will be excited when this is over. For my final mock draft of the 2021 draft season, I wanted to put a little twist on it!

I am going to go 1 round with trades. The big difference is I am not going to predict what teams will do, but rather give my opinion on what teams should do. Some things may seem like predictions (pick #1), however I feel that is what the franchise should do! Let's get started on my final mock draft.

1. Jacksonville Jaguars- Trevor Lawrence QB Clemson

We have all known this was the pick ever since Trevor led Clemson to a national championship in 2018. I personally do not feel this should be the pick. However, the Jaguars had the biggest coaching hire this offseason in Urban Meyer, and the next best way to increase ticket sales is to draft the biggest name in this draft!

2. New York Jets- Zach Wilson QB BYU

There are three things guaranteed in life; death, taxes, and the Jets needing a QB. It is now evident that the Jets will 100% take a QB here at 2 after they traded away Sam Darnold. The Jets play in a big market (even though their stadium is in New Jersey.) If Lawrence is the biggest name in this draft, Wilson is a close 2nd. He performed insane at his pro day and his stock shot up quicker than a roller coaster. The Jets are another team that needs to earn the trust back in their fan base, and their fan base wants Wilson.

3. San Francisco 49ers (From Mia via Houston)- Justin Fields QB Ohio State

Can you think of a QB that will not succeed in the Kyle Shanahan offense? According to my man Christian Williams, Fields is the best QB in this draft. I hate to agree with him, but after hearing his argument over and over I have to agree. Shanahan's offense is very focused on establishing the run early and then throwing the ball deep. Fields is the quickest QB in this draft and he has the best arm in this draft. San Fran will be back in the Super Bowl conversation soon.

4. Atlanta Falcons- Kyle Pitts Freak Athlete Florida

Kyle Pitts is the best non-QB in this draft by far and should be in the argument for the best player in this draft. Dan Mullen compared him to a unicorn. The only way to stop a unicorn is with another unicorn. There are no unicorn's who can stop him in the NFC South. Pitts is a mismatch nightmare. He is too quick for LB's and too big for CB's. Imagine an offense featuring Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley, and Kyle Pitts!

5. Cincinnati Bengals- Penei Sewell OT Oregon

Did you see the scar on Joe Burrow's leg from his ACL surgery? For me personally, it was one of the most disgusting things I saw that day. Priority number 1 for the Bengals should be to protect Joe Burrow at all costs. They have an opportunity to select the best OT in this draft. I get they signed much needed offensive line help in free agency, but you can never be too safe.

6. Dallas Cowboys (from Mia via Phi)- Patrick Surtain II CB Alabama

We got ourselves a trade. The Cowboys defense in 2020 was bad. When I say bad I mean historically bad. The one position they are very thin at is CB, especially in a division that seems to be acquiring WR talent. There may be a chance Surtain falls to them at 10, but Jerry needs to be smart and guarantee Surtain is a Cowboy. The only way to do that is to trade up with Miami.

7. Detroit Lions- Ja'Marr Chase WR LSU

Well Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones Jr are no longer on the Lions, and their best pass catcher is now a TE. The Lions have a lot of money invested in new QB Jared Goff. If the Lions want Goff to be the QB of the future, you might want to consider giving him some weapons. They already have young studs in TJ Hockenson and D'Andre Swift, go out and get a big name receiver.

8. Carolina Panthers- Jaylen Waddle WR Alabama

I heard reports that Carolina was looking to trade down. However, I was having a hard time figuring out who their trade partner would be. With new QB Sam Darnold attempting to rebuild his career, lets get him as many weapons as possible. At least when he has all these weapons and he still fails we can stop blaming Adam Gase (I am not endorsing Adam Gase, he is just as bad). DJ Moore on one side, Robby Anderson in the slot, and Jaylen Waddle on the outside, seems like a very solid group of receivers.

9. Denver Broncos- Mac Jones QB Alabama

The Broncos need some spark on offense, and what better way to ignite some spark is a good ole fashioned QB battle. Drew Lock has not done anything to prove he is the long term plan in Denver. If Denver brings in Mac Jones, it could open Drew Lock to a trade and the Broncos could add some draft capital in the future.

10. Miami Dolphins (From Dal)- Rashawn Slater OT Northwestern

Miami lost out on the opportunity to draft the best OT with the 6th pick. With the top receivers and tackle off the board now at 10, they should zero in on the 2nd best tackle. How often have we seen, a young QB get a devastating injury too early in their career? Miami can not let them happen to Tua.

11. New York Giants- Jaycee Horn CB South Carolina

The same logic the Cowboys used in 2020 and 2021 should also be the Giants and Dave Gettleman's plan this year. The Cowboys infamously drafted Ceedee Lamb in 2020 and in my opinion was just because the Eagles wanted him. This year Dallas took another Eagles target and got a huge boost with Surtain. There is no hiding that Jaycee Horn is a top target for the Eagles, and with all the new weapons in the NFC East, should also be a top target for New York.

12. Philadelphia Eagles (From Mia via SF)- Micah Parsons LB Penn State

This one will be short and sweet. Howie Roseman and the Eagles need to get their act together and start valuing the linebacker position. They have an opportunity to take the best defensive player in this draft even after trading back. Don't be dumb Howie!

13. Los Angelas Chargers- Christian Darrisaw OT Virginia Tech

Congratulations! The LA Chargers have found their QB of the future. Now lets make sure he does not get severely hurt like his fellow 2020 draftee Joe Burrow!

14. Minnesota Vikings- Kwity Paye EDGE Michigan

The Vikings biggest glaring hole is their edge rushers. I was very close to taking a QB with this pick, but I refrained from all the hate. Paye is the best EDGE rusher in this draft and will make an instant impact on their depleted defensive line.

15. New England Patriots- Trey Lance QB North Dakota State

I love Cam Newton very much. I think Lance ends up getting traded down the road, because I feel Newton is going to have a bounce back season. However, there is uncertainty with the QB in New England, and there is zero chance they will be in a scenario where they can draft a QB this low, and they should take advantage of it now.

16.Arizona Cardinals- Christian Barmore DT Alabama

This time last week, this pick was the RB from Alabama. However, Arizona picked up James Connor and that idea of mine is no longer possible. I know Kliff Kinsbury is offense first and has the mentality of "you can win every game if you put up 50 points each game." At some point he needs to focus on his defense just slightly. Barmore will help their defense only give up 40 points.

17. Chicago Bears (From LV)- Rashon Bateman WR Minnesota

Allen Robinson has maybe a year left in Chicago. At some point they will not franchise tag him. Marquise Goodwin will be lucky if he makes the roster. The Bears have zero clue who will be the starting QB week 1. The one thing they can do, is get Andy Dalton or Nick Foles a young solid WR. Why trade up to get Bateman? There are no guarantees in the NFL Draft. If you like a player you go out and get him.

18. Cleveland Browns (From Mia)- Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah LB Notre Dame

Trade? Oh yes! Hey Cleveland friends, this is the year the Browns start valuing the LB position. The Browns one missing piece to a Super Bowl run is the linebacker position. The Browns have the opportunity to get an elite LB who will help spread-out the defense and make the entire AFC North cry.

19. Washington Football Team- DeVonta Smith WR Alabama

The Football Team have a few glaring weaknesses. I think their draft strategy should be simple if they decide to stay at 19. Take the best player available at a position you need. They need some more WR help, and have the opportunity to draft Smith. I am sure ticket sales will increase with the reigning Heisman Trophy winner.

20. Las Vegas Raiders (From Chi)- Trevon Moehrig S TCU

The Raiders love taking players way sooner than when they should be picked. Since Jon Gruden returned to the Raiders, their coverage unit has been the worst in the NFL. The Raiders have an opportunity to draft the best safety in this draft and attempt to turn their terrible coverage into a decently bad unit.

21. Indianpolis Colts- Azeez Ojulari EDGE Georgia

The Colts were one of the NFL's worst pass rushing teams in 2020. After having one of the worst defensive lines in football, they lost their two best defensive lineman. Maybe this was a blessing in disguise. Maybe they should be smart and take Azeez. If the top tier WR's are all gone, the Colts should focus on that defensive front.

22. Tennessee Titans- Terrece Marshall Jr. WR LSU

There is no hiding that the Titans offense is built around Derrick Henry. The Titans also have rising star AJ Brown. At some point, the Titans need to take the pressure off these two and get more weapons. With Corey Davis and Jonnu Smith no longer member of the Titans, they should focus in on the forgotten member of the LSU Tigers National Championship team.

23. Baltimore Ravens (From NYJ via Sea)- Alijah Vera-Tucker OT USC

The Ravens received the 31st pick after trading away their Orlando Brown Jr. They then trade both picks to move up 4 picks to replace him? They absolutely do that. If they do not trade up their AFC North Rival will take him at 24. The Ravens need to replace Orland Brown Jr in this draft and Vera-Tucker is the best option. If you like a player, you get him at all costs.

24. Pittsburgh Steelers- Najee Harris RB Alabama

This pick should be OT if someone falls to them. No one fell to them at 24 in this mock, so now they have to go with the fan favorite pick. The Steelers have had zero run success for a long time. They have an opportunity to get the best RB in the draft here at 24, and he will not be available when they pick again. Get the best RB in this draft and go all in on a Super Bowl.

25. Jacksonville Jaguars (From LAR)- Pat Freirmuth TE Penn State

Congrats! You have your new franchise QB. Now we need to get Trevor some more weapons. The Jaguars signed some good WR help in the off-season and the one position they need to fill is TE. The Jaguars have not had much production out of their TE's in years, and that will change with Freirmuth. Get Trevor as many weapons as possible!

26. Miami Dolphins (From Clev.)- Jaelan Phillips EDGE Miami

The Dolphins need defensive line help. There are injury concerns with Phillips (hence why he has fallen.) His medical tests in recent weeks have come back with no injury concerns, but his time at UCLA has drawn huge concern. I think whoever takes the risk on Phillips will hit the jackpot. You will not find a stronger and quicker player on the EDGE other than Phillips. Miami is ready to roll after this pick.

27. New York Jets (From Bal)- Caleb Farley CB Virginia Tech

New Head Coach Robert Saleh is a defensive first coach. Farley also has some major injury concerns, but when healthy he is easily a top tier CB in this draft. The Jets are about to continue on their decade long rebuild, and taking the risk on Farley could prove to be a huge success. If he does not work out, then just continue on the long rebuild. The Jets are not competing for a playoff spot for a few years. Let Farley sit a year and get fully healthy, and you have yourself an absolute steal at 27.

28. New Orleans Saints- Greg Newsome CB Northwestern

34 year-old Patrick Robinson needs some help or a replacement. Newsome is a guy that sometimes goes unsaid due to the skills of the top tier CB's ahead of him. There are some crazy good pass catchers in the NFC South, and the Saints are going to need all the help they can get.

29. Green Bay Packers- Rondale Moore WR Purdue

Get Aaron Rodgers some help before he retires and takes over as the full-time host on Jeopardy.

30. Buffalo Bills- Jayson Oweh EDGE Penn State

The Bills pass rushing unit was mediocre. They were not great but they were not bad. The Bills are right on the edge of playing and winning the Super Bowl. Now add in their run defense. There is a big question mark here. Oweh will help on both run and pass rushing, and hopefully lead Bills Mafia to the Super Bowl.

31. New York Jets (From Bal via KC)- Gregory Rousseu EDGE Miami

Robert Saleh is still a defensive minded coach and he still needs major help on defense.

The Jets got help with their CB room and now they need EDGE rushing. Don't be surprised if the Jets look to booster their defense with another CB, but since they are all off the board they play it safe and take the EDGE from Miami.

32. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Zaven Collins LB Tulsa

If you can find a glaring hole in the Bucs team let me know. The easy response is QB because Tom Brady can't play forever right? Jokes on you he will be here until he's 50. The Bucs won the Super Bowl because of their LB's, and Bruce Arians is going to make sure he does that again.
